We’ll start with the display and sonar. The FishElite 480
offers an LCD five inch diagonal screen. It is displayed in high
definition 480x480 resolution. The screen and the keypad have a
backlight to allow for fishing in dark hours of the days as well.
What you get in this display is a good looking, 16 level grayscale
that will provide for you a good, black and white picture of the
bottom and of the waters below. When your sonar beams back to your
boat, you’ll have a clear enough picture to understand what’s
there and to bring it in.
The sonar is also high quality. In fact, you can digitally record
and play sonar graphs and GPS trip details with its memory cards.
The sonar has a depth of 800 feet which is great for most lakes.
It has a high performance transducer which can detect some of the
smallest items even while your boat is cruising at 70 miles per
hour. Why is this good? It gives you all the details. What’s
below you? Where is it hiding? It will tell you where the bottom
is and where the fish is and it will tell you with details what
your fish is up to. All this helps you to tailor your bait and cast
